My 1tb wd hdd for my jtag seems to have died it's not being detected at all by the xbox. It is a self powered plug hdd I've checked the plug and usb and there fine. Is there anyway to recover the data of there as it's over 500gb of xbox games.
Yup tried it on a friends pc as I currently don't have one it doesn't show up on there either no usb noise when plugging it in seems to have completely died.
Since im sure you would know if it took enough of a fall or shock to damage the actual drive(then which you would prob need to send it to a recovery service, likely not worth the cost) otherwise I would guess that the usb conversion board has failed, you could pull the HDD out of it's case and connect it to any modern desktop , and most laptops (providing the inner drive is a sata2.5) be sure to try another USB cord before anything though , they do tend to go bad from time to time
Nope not took any shock damage and I haven't dropped it been in its usual place on my setup just booted the jtag last night and it didn't boot to fsd so I checked it and it seems dead, will try and get it out of the casing and see if that works can't really download over 500gb of games again ...
I have done my 320gb shows up fine what's 32gb formatted for retail and rest for jtag just have to see if I can get my 1tb working all my games are on there.
Well if its dead you can try to replace the control board inside which would should make it start running. Or you can always try one of those HDD copier hardware things but cause its already died I don't think a copier is gonna work.
Well the hdd isn't dead I've took it out of the encloser it's in and it gets detected via sata on a friends pc so I'm guessing the pcb board on the box has died. will have to buy a new caddy for it at least I've not lost 500gb of games
