Game Data Installation is Required in order to play the game and will be installed in-game and an Internal Hard Drive is Needed for the Installation which is approximately 1.7GB in size. Game is tested in Extracted Format (.xex). (Minimum Dashboard Version Required: v2.0.16537.0) Game Data Installation is Compatible with the following Xbox 360 Configured/Formatted Storage Devices: Internal Hard Drive. The folder structure used is as follows: Games \ Metal Gear Solid V Ground Zeroes \ Extracted Files. (Game Data Installation will be Automated in-game but for your curiosity, Here's a reference for the file location). Folder Structure for Game Data Installation: (Example) Hdd1 \ Content \ 0000000000000000 \ 4B4E085C \ 00000001 \ gamedata_na (Game Data File) *The game runs fine with FSD and DashLaunch and has no problem so far. Tested on: XBOX 360 Slim 4GB Corona RGH Glitch 2 Dash: 16547 320GB Internal Hard Drive(OEM/Third Party) FSD 3 rev 775 xexmenu DashLaunch 3.11 (This Tutorial May Apply To RGH/JTAG Users Only) Files related to the game are not allowed to be uploaded and/or distributed on XPG so please Don't Ask For It. This Thread is aimed towards newbies and for those planning to get the game. If you already know all these, Unnecessary Comments are Not Needed. IF THE GAME DOESN'T WORK DO THIS: -be sure to have an internal HDD, not external, you need an internal one -put the game (extracted) at the root of a fat32 usb key -put the key on the usb behind the 360 -power on the xbox -launch the game FROM THE USB KEY, NOT FROM YOU INTERNAL HARD DRIVE -the game launch, install game data on hdd -profit
Meteoracp, can you please tell us 4GB owners without internal HDD, what are the specific files in 'gamedata_na'? The same thing happened for NFS Rivals and Battlefield 4, if we know what are the files then we might be able to play it...
No, However you should have a dashboard version of 2.0.16537.0 as that's the dashboard's minimum required version to play the game. For 4GB console owners, The Game Data Installation will not work with the 4GB flash memory as an Internal Hard Drive is needed. The "gamedata_na" file is the only file that will be installed during the Game Data Installation and it's NOT necessary because the in-game Data Installation will grab that file for you and transfer it to the internal hard drive. Having the file separately and manually transferring it will not make any difference as it will still not work.
so the 4gb owners ? there's no way to get the game works for the non jtag/rgh ? if i plug an external hdd in the console? i tried with a usb 16gb and it won't recognize,no way.. please help !! thank you so much
If you're talking about original consoles, This Thread is not for you as it's RGH/JTAG related however you will need an internal hard drive regardless if you have a modified or original console in order to install the Game Data content.
anyone knows if the instalation can be done with this drive? Since i found this on konami website: You can install METAL GEAR SOLID V: Ground Zeroes to an Xbox 360 hard drive or USB flash drive (sold separately) on Xbox 360.
I don't think it will work, Some have said that this Official USB flash drive will not work with additional content installation from games like Battlefield 4 or alike however Downloadable Contents(DLC) along with some other data are compatible but not content that requires installation. It should work just like a normal generic configured USB flash drive just that it's made for the XBOX 360 with compatible performance. You're better off getting a third party or OEM internal hard drive that will work just like an original one which it's more affordable and you'll find it useful in the long run. Some games like Call of Duty: Ghosts do allow additional contents to be installed on various storage devices but it's quite rare with newer games not to mention Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes.
I noticed when I first start this game I have to wait a few minutes for the start options to appear. I searched and saw it's a common issue.
Hi guys, i saw a title update for MGSGZ this morning, i think it fix the installation on external problem, did anyone checked it? I only can update when get to home this night!
Tested it on 4GB flash memory and external hard drive with Title Update 1, It does not work as it still prompts for the game data installation which as usual will be installed to the internal hard drive.
Help lol Game not working for me when i rip and transfer it to my jtag i try to play it go through the installs but when im done with everything it just shows snake sitting there no menu?
Try waiting it out, It takes me around 10 seconds to view the menu and happens every time without fail and it should depend on how much content you have in your storage devices but I could be wrong. Alternatively you can try using the game in extracted format if you haven't done so already.
sorry.. but that game install some file? or use the HD "in game" like a SWAP? Is possible that game NEED a SPEED SUCCESFULL MEMUNIT? (when u format the memunit usb, xbox tell to u if the speed is good or not). The data of the installation is a single file? is maked 1 time? some one have try to extract it with us tool?
