Mojang is looking to ensure that worlds built in Minecraft: PlayStation 3 Edition will be transferable to the upcoming PS4 version of the game. It's hoped that the same will apply to the PS Vita version too, though the developer says it's "still working out" how to do it. Mojang's Owen Hill posted the information in response to comments posted on the EU PlayStation Blog, outlining plans for the PS4 and Vita releases of Minecraft. "The plan is to enable users to transfer from PS3 to PS4," Hill stated. "We're still working out how it'll work with the Vita version." Both Minecraft: PS4 Edition and PS Vita Edition are tentatively scheduled for a "Q2/Q3" release, Hill added, which puts the launch window somewhere between now and September. Whether Cross-Buy or trade-up discounts could be something on the cards, however, is still seemingly being decided. "We'll have more news on cross-buy/upgrade options soon! I understand that the wait is frustrating, but we don't want to make false promises," Hill explained.
